Variegated Merino Blend Darning Yarn (14 Ply) - Parrot
The 'Parrot' (#241) colorway from our chunky merino blend darning yarn range includes a mix of vibrant blue, fresh green and yellow shades.
A heavier weight 14-ply yarn which can split into a single strand for mending very fine knitwear, or use multiple strands e.g. 2, 3, 4, 5 or the full 14 strands if you require a thicker yarn for repairing something like a 4-ply or sport weight knit.
This luxury yarn is spun and dyed in Italy - it's actually leftover surplus yarn from the textile production process and without being rescued it's likely it would end being wasted and sent to landfill.
80 % merino wool and 20% polyamide - it has a similar fibre composition to a classic darning wool or mending yarn, which are often a mix of wool and polyester/nylon. The addition of polyamide creates a yarn that's a little more hard-wearing than a pure wool yarn, making it ideal for repairing socks, cuffs and armpit areas that take more wear and tear.
Each card contains approximately 10 m (33 ft) of yarn.
The spacing between each colour change/repeat is appprox 4-5cm.
